Maturity in Christ: Finding your Calling

How do you find what God calls you to do?

We find what God calls you to do by practicing the word of God daily. The following tips will help you find what God is calling you to do.

1.     Be born again:

Find out what the message of the Gospel is and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Once you believe, the Holy Spirit comes to reside in you, you are cleansed from sin and you have come into the kingdom of God here on earth.

After you’re born again, you are on the right track to finding what God has called you to do because God can take full control over your life. God needs us because He has a master plan for our lives and will give us a sense of fulfillment far more than we could imagine.

2.     Ask Him:

God wants a relationship because that is the way he designed us to function. If you ask God to reveal his masterplan in your life, he will take pride in revealing it to you.

As you pray, be attentive to your dreams, prophecies upon your life, words of knowledge from pastors, and the signs that God will show you. God will speak to you often through your thoughts and as you grow in faith, you will be able to discern Gods leading from your everyday thoughts.

You may also have to be patient with the process. Time is required to heal old wounds as we allow our hearts to be softened so that God can use us appropriately.

3.     What areas do you always seem to find favour with God and man?

As we pray for God to show us his calling upon our lives, it is important to note that God has a habit of calling you to bless the lives of others, not just yours and your family’s life.

Your calling could be an inclination God has fixed in your heart for so many years. How do you know if the inclination is of God? Is it of good virtue, is it lovely, is there any good report? If it is pure, continue to walk towards those inclinations. In your area of calling, God will always make a way where there seems to be no way.
